Set a New Standard! Your New Strategy for Outstanding Performance.

I wear this bracelet I got from a Tony Robbins event that says:

“SET A NEW STANDARD.”

People often ask me what it means – so here’s the idea:

The world does not need another average player. Being average is commonplace.
If you’re going to do something great, give it your BEST or don’t do it at all.

We all play life inside a specific set of self-imposed expectations of ourselves.
We have a set minimum level, and a maximum high level.
That’s where we usually live.

We won’t dare dip below that self imposed minimum, and we rarely do anything above the maximum level.
For example, most of us won’t engage in criminal activities – our minimum standard won’t allow it. And depending what your maximum level is, you’ll stay in your comfort zone most days. It’s your maximum engagement.

Some people have levels that are much higher than others. It’s totally self imposed.
The guy waking up early each morning isn’t better than you, it’s just his minimum standard.

What’s yours?

Average people have average standards.
They obey the law – usually.
They play big – occasionally.
It’s a good life – but not great.
Definitely not outstanding.
Average – at best.
And the results show it.

Some people’s minimum level is someone else’s maximum.
Few of us keep raising our standard.

The good news is that since these limits are self imposed, they are also adjustable.

Want Outstanding Performance?  It’s really very simple…

Expect more of yourself.
They world needs the BEST of you.
Whatever it is you’re doing, raise your standards.

Starting today, set a new standard for your life!
